Philanthropic engagement and giving are core tenants of the IT Concepts way. It’s important to us to do right by the communities we live in, and to help afford opportunities to those alongside us who are in a position to benefit from them. Despite the unpredictable nature of 2020, we have made a concerted effort to remain connected to causes that have adapted to life in a virtual world and found new ways to help.
In October, we were humbled to be invited to the DC Scores “One Night, One Goal” fundraising event that raised over $200,000 to benefit poet-athletes all over the DC Metro area. This organization and the money raised will help make sure that they feel connected, safe, optimistic, and creative while at home.
About DC Scores
DC Scores is a non-profit based in DC that creates neighborhood teams that give kids in need the confidence and skills to succeed on the playing field, in the classroom, and in life. They work to create a DC where every child – no matter their family income – experiences the joys of childhood: sports, arts, service, and being part of a team. Where every child – no matter their family circumstances – is empowered to find academic success and grow into an emotionally and physically healthy teen and adult. Where every neighborhood supports and celebrates its children and their accomplishments on and off the playing field. IT Concepts is proud to stand alongside them.
One Night, One Goal
Held at the new home of DC United / Washington Spirit, Audi Field, we were joined by industry colleagues, athletes, and current DC Scores coaches and poet laureates. They not only delivered a powerful performance in the middle of the field, but also reminded us all of how important it is to work to create pathways and opportunities so all of our children can realize the greatness that lives within each of them.
Here’s what Bethany Henderson, DC Scores CEO, had to say about the event:
“In the toughest collective year in memory, our kids still feel safe, supported, connected, and hopeful. That’s something I’ve come to expect from DC SCORES, but it’s something I’ve never appreciated as much as I do now”
While IT Concepts continues to grow and provide value to our clients, we also recognize that an important element of that success is using it as a force for good. We’re proud to support organizations like DC Scores and look forward to building a deeper relationship in the years to come.
