We currently lead teams totaling 450+ staff (ITC and subcontractors) supporting SSA, across 17 divisions and 3 contracts commissioned with IT services – from the SSA mainframe to the distributed telecommunications environments to running SSA helpdesks to protecting the Agency’s IT resources data, and business mission with a dynamic enterprise-wide information security/cybersecurity program to improving the SSA customer experience with expanded use of IT products and services.
Challenge
SSA’s Streamlined Acquisition Streamlined Acquisition System (SSASy) is SSA’s implementation of an acquisition management system. SSASy serves as the Agency’s official contract writing system, which is a paperless, electronic tool, used to prepare, submit and process a full range of pre and post-award acquisition actions.
Due to attrition and government personnel movement, SSASy user management became more and more of an administrative burden – taking valuable time away from more analytical tasks.
Action
IT Concept’s developer team created a bot using UIPath that assists with user access management. In Fall 2022, the bot activated 1,000+ users and deactivated 200+ users, who did not register/re-register as a SSASy user by the October 2022 deadline.

Result
This results in improved monitoring and control of access to sensitive information as well as a significant time savings by automating a manual process between different software.
At that time, ITC was recognized by SSA as the only company who designed an RPA BOT without any help. We are continuing to build additional modules to automate other manual user management processes. The future of the workload for the customer is focused on RPA and bot development.
